1. Brad Pitt

Staring in one of the most memorable friends episodes, Brad Pitt plays Will Colbert, an old friend of Ross, Monica, and Rachel from high school. 2. Adam Goldberg

While he now stars on ABC's hit show "The Goldbergs," Adam Goldberg enjoyed some time playing Eddie Meneuk in the second season of the show. His character was Chandler's new roommate after a falling out occurred between Chandler and Joey. They soon made up, and Goldberg was kicked out of the apartment, meaning he only starred in one episode.

3. Winona Ryder

After becoming famous to more younger generation thanks to her excellent work as Joyce Byers in the Netflix hit series "Stranger Things," many of you probably didn't know she starred in the seventh season of "Friends." Ryder's character, Melissa Warburton, was a friend of Rachel's who she kissed after having too much to drink one night.

4. Alec Baldwin

The famous American actor comedian and producer Alec Baldwin did a fantastic job in his two-episode role as Parker, Phoebe's overly enthusiastic friend in season 8. His character was known for making a big fuss about everything he does, and causing quite the conflict between the friends, as they find Parker very annoying!

5. Julia Roberts

Academy Award winner Julia Roberts guest starred in an episode of the show. Her episode famously was aired after the Super Bowl where an audience of 52.9 million people watched, that was more than the shows finale! Roberts played a grade school friend of Chandler.

6. Robin Williams

The titan of comedy, Robin Williams, had previously starred in a season 3 episode of "Friends". Considering how big of an actor Williams was at the time, to have him on the show meant an awful lot. His character's name was Thomas, who was best known for his hilarious back and forth with fellow comedy legend Billy Crystal.

7. Gary Oldman

Gary Oldman plays a famous actor working alongside joey in a movie about soldiers in WW1, of course this is whilst featuring in the season 7 episode about Monica and Chandler's wedding. In the episode Oldman's character struggles with a pronunciation problem, which joey learns to reciprocate.

8. Hugh Laurie

Comedic Brit, Hugh Laurie stared in the iconic episode "The One With Ross' Wedding, Part 2". He played the man who sat next to Rachel on her flight to break up Ross and Emily's wedding. His character completely lacked any sympathy for Rachel's side of the story, with his memorable closing remark being "oh and by the way, it's clear you were on a break".

9. Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis played Paul Stevens for three episodes in season 6. His character was dating Rachel, whilst Ross was dating his daughter. He used his obvious physical prowess to intimidate Ross, who he didn't approve of dating his daughter due to the age difference between them.

10. Denise Richards

Actress and model Denise Richards shocked chandler when she guest appeared as Ross and Monica's cousin in an episode from season 7. In the episode, Ross misinterpreted a movie night with wine as a romantic night between the two, which lead to him attempting to kiss his cousin! Her reaction of shock and disgust was no surprise.

11. Cole Sprouse

Cole Sprouse played Ross' son, Ben for two seasons on Friends. Ben had been raised by Ross' ex-wife and partner. This was before Spouse became famous for staring in "The Suite life of Zack and Cody", where alongside his twin brother Dylan he became widely recognised.

Sean Penn was arguably one of the biggest surprise guests the show has seen over the years. In his episode he used his famous comedic skills to play Eric, who's torn between deciding between the Buffay twins which he can't tell the difference between! Who should he go for, Ursula or Phoebe?

13. Ben Stiller

Comedian and actor Ben Stiller made a guest appearance in season 3 starring as Tommy, Rachel's date. His character's unpredictability was unforgettable! Ben stiller is incredibly famous for starring in many comedy masterpieces including "Zoolander", "Meet The Fockers" and the "Madagascar" series.

14. Isabella Rossellini

Ross made a list of celebrities he would be allowed to sleep with early on in "The One With Frank Jr." Isabella Rossellini initially was on this list, and she starred as herself in the same episode. She was later however bunked off of Ross' list for Winona Ryder, who also starred in the show.

15. Anna Faris

Anna Faris appeared in several episodes at the end of the show as the birth mother of Chandler and Monica's twins. After initially being unsure of who the farther actually was, she thankfully gave birth to the set of twins and one of the twins was named Erica in her honour.

Morgan Fairchild appeared as Chandler's sexy mom in five episodes of the show, initially leaving a good impression on Ross. She famously starred in her sons wedding where she memorably sparred with her ex and being mistaken for him by a perplexed Jack Geller.

Iconic actor and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" superstar Danny DeVito guest appeared in the episode "The One Where the Stripper Cries" as un surprisingly - s stripper! His character, Roy, was a past his prime professional male dancer, who got very upset when Phoebe implied this.

She had starred in "I Am Sam" and "Man on Fire," where she gained national attention. She grew a relationship with Joey after both agreeing on not alloying the couple to buy the house.

Her character's role was to give joey a brain transplant, which initially she was very displeased about. 23. Giovanni Ribisi

Prior to having a successful career in "Sneaky Pete" and other blockbuster films such as "Ted", Giovanni Ribisi rose to prominence playing Phoebe's brother, Frank Jr. Phoebe managed to connect with her brother after an attempt to find her farther. His character was a bit of an oddball however, as he had a partner who was 26 years senior to him.

Jeff Goldblum plays a legendary director, who goes by the name Leonard Hayes in the season 9 episode "The One with the Mugging". Joey auditors for Hayes's project, where he goes on to nail it due to his tortured disposition, caused by his full bladder!

25. David Arquette

David Arquette appeared on the show as Malcolm in the episode "The One with the Jam". Malcolm was the stalker and ex-boyfriend of Phoebe's twin sister Ursula. He managed to mistake the two and start a relationship with the other twin, what could go wrong?

26. Helen Hunt

The award-winning "Mad About You" star, Helen Hunt, stars as her own character, Jamie Buchman on a season 1 episode of the show. She most noticeably mistakes Phoebe for her twin sister Ursula after randomly seeing her in Central Park which makes the encounter between the women, very awkward!

27. Debi Mazar

"Goodfellas" actor Debi Mazar provided some much needed comedic relief in the episode "The One Where Rachel Has a Baby: Part 1". Debi Mazar played one half of a fighting couple in the conjoined hospital room where Rachel was staying. Mazar portrayed the perfect example of a nightmare hospital patient!

28. Charlie Sheen

Charlie Sheen stared as Phoebe's long lost lover in the Season 2 episode "The One with the Chicken Pox". Sheen's character was a member of the U.S. Navy, who returned to New York for a two week stay with Phoebe. Despite her suffering from chicken pox at the time, it didn't stop them having a magical time.

29. Steve Zahn

The friends were probably shocked to discover that Phoebe had once married a gay Canadian ice dancer, played by Steve Zahn, during Season 2. Phoebe married him to help him gain U.S. citizenship, however it turns out he wasn't gay and was actually looking for a divorce to get married again!

Christina Applegate did a great job playing Rachel's spoiled sister, Amy over the course of two separate episodes. Her character was extremely bossy and unlikeable, even prompting Joey to say she may be the hottest girl he's ever hated. From kissing her sister's ex boyfriend, to calling her niece the wrong name, she was definitely the most feisty character on the show.
