Love him or hate him, there’s no denying that Snape knows his onions when it comes to Potions. As he so rightly put it, he can teach you how to “bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses” as well as how to “bottle fame, brew glory and even put a stopper in death…”. 

It’s safe to say that having Snape in the room with you as a looming, hook-nosed presence is enough to make anyone fail Potions, but let’s see how well you do with him (thankfully) absent from the room.
